Anyone familiar with magic recognizes the symbols as powerful wards against approach. But their exact nature isn’t known until a creature steps close enough to comprehend them. Once triggered, a symbol inflicts excruciating pain.
DC 26: The character notices the glowing symbols on the floor of the chamber.
DC 31: The character recognizes the nature of the symbols.
When a creature approaches within 3 squares of a symbol, the trap rolls initiative and attacks.
+29 vs. Will
3d6 + 10 psychic damage, and the target is slowed (save ends).
Ongoing 15 psychic damage, and the target is immobilized (save ends both).
Arcana DC 31 or Thievery DC 26: A character adjacent to a symbol can disable a symbol trap with a successful Arcana or Thievery check.
A character possessing the White Kingdom boneclaw is not affected by the symbol traps.
